Excellent Exam results at The Cowplain School
Despite all the disruption that our students have faced this year we again saw an excellent improvement in exam results for our Year 11 students, both at GCSE and vocational subjects. Among the stand out individual performances were those of our Head Boy, Stuart Oliver, who achieved an amazing 12 x Grade 9 GCSEs! I don’t recall any student achieving so highly at GCSE and so Stuart’s achievement really is fantastic. However, he wasn’t alone, with Lily Montgomery (8 x Grade 9, 2 x Grade 8, 1 x Grade 7), Sam Ellis (7 x Grade 9, 3 x Grade 8, 1 x Grade 7), Alfie Moth (6 x Grade 9, 5 x Grade 8, 1 x Grade 7) and Isabel Fry (6 x Grade 9, 4 x Grade 8, 1 x Grade 7) also attaining great results. We also saw fantastic achievement from Olivia Nu, Eden Gains, Luana Vieira, Marnie Woolmer and Megan Watkinson who recorded 15 Grade 9s and 17 Grade 8s between them! I really could also list countless other students who achieved amazingly well.
The core subjects of Maths and English saw high results for the number of students achieving each one and Art, Biology, Chemistry, Dance, Drama, Engineering, Food, French, Hair and Beauty, Music, Photography, Physics, Psychology and Sport all recorded results of over 80%!
We hope these results enable our young people to progress with the next stage of their lives, whether it be college, an apprenticeship or a job, and we wish them well for the future.
